Kim is a Clinical Nurse Educator in the main Surgical Suite, at the University of Alberta Hospital, and a Sessional Faculty/Instructor in the Perioperative Program at MacEwan University in Edmonton. She has worked in all areas of Perioperative nursing over her 32 nursing career. Kim received and continues to maintain her Canadian Nurse's Perioperative Certification and sits as a current member of the CNA Perioperative Examination committee. She has spent many years being involved in all aspects of ORNAC - sitting on her regional, provincial and the national ORNAC board. She represented ORNAC on the International Federation of Perioperative Nurse's (IFPN) board, 2002-2003. As the chairperson for the ORNAC Editorial Advisory committee, she was involved in organizing the transition from the old CORNJ journal to the new journal - through Clockwork Communications, in 2002. She has worked on many provincial OR conferences in a variety of roles including chairing two of them. She co-chaired the ORNAC national conference in Banff in 2001, was the Co-chair for the ORNAC Conference in Edmonton in 2015 and is the National Pillar Chair for this conference in Niagara in 2017.

Linda is a past and current executive member of both the Operating Room Nurses Association of Ontario (ORNAO) and Operating Room Nurses Association of Greater Toronto (ORNGT) and long standing member of the ORNAO Provincial Conference Planning Committee. Linda has worked in nursing for 30 years, 20 of those years were spent in the operating room of a paediatric trauma/teaching hospital, as a staff nurse, charge nurse, research nurse and informatics nurse. Linda spent 5 years working at a large regional health centre, MOHLTC and Cancer Care Ontario as a perioperative nurse consultant and clinical informatics nurse. Currently, Linda is employed as a clinical informatics nurse and project manager for Perioperative Services at a ST. Michael’s Hospital, Toronto, ON. One of Linda’s many passions is medical/surgical mission work and she has participated in many missions both with No Boundaries (a team comprised primarily of the Hospital for Sick Children staff) and the International Children’s Awareness (ICA). Linda is the current president and a founding member of the Friends of African Nursing (Canada), a not for profit charity providing Perioperative Nursing education to nurses in Africa.

Gloria is a staff nurses in the OR at the Taber Health Center.

She has 44 years of nursing experience, and 35 of those in perioperative nursing.

Her extensive career has encompassed the following positions: Assistant Director of Nursing at a small rural hospital, Clincial Co-Ordinator in the OR at Chinook Regional Hospital, Clinical Rural Perioperative Educator, staff nurse at a plastic surgery suite, sessional college instructor for nursing students in the or, Clinical Support for Medline Canada Inc, Sales Manager/Nurse Consultant Sabre Scientific and Territory Manager/Nurse Consultant for Meditron Canada.

Gloria received and continues to maintain her CPNc.

She has chaired 3 successful ORNAA Provincial conferences and has supported other districts, taking a position of their conference committee.

She chaired the 2001 ORNAC National Conference in Banff, and worked on the bid/proposal for the 2013 National Conference.

She was selected by the ORNAA Board and is the 1st ORNAA Conference Liaison, working closely with the Conference Committee and the Alberta Exhibitor Advisory Committee.

She has received 2 ORNAA writing awards and in 2015 was the recipient of the Lorne Flower Memorial Award.

Cathleen is the Manager of Perioperative Services, St. Martha’s Hospital, Antigonsih, Nova Scotia where she has worked for over twenty years.Cathleen has been an ORNAC Standards committee member from 2011-2015. She was elected to the role of ORNAC President Elect in 2013 and served as the Chair of the Nominating Committee from 2014 to 2015.

Cindy is a certified perioperative nurse who graduated from the Dalhousie School of Nursing, Halifax and has over 20 years perioperative experience. Since graduating, she has held various roles including staff nurse on a surgical unit, operating Room staff, charge relief, and instructor for the NS provincial perioperative program. She has been the clinical educator for the operating rooms at Victoria General Hospital in Halifax for over 13 years. As clinical educator, Cindy acts as a resource, facilitator, teacher, and role model for the perioperative nurses as well as an advocate for patient safety through application of the ORNAC Standards. Current she is the President Elect for the Operating Room Nurses Association of Nova Scotia (ORNANS).

Jane has been nursing in the Operating Room for 33 years, as a staff nurse, Care Facilitator and a Manager. In 1996 she obtained her CPNC and in 2009 her BScN. She is the Manager of Perioperative Operative Services, Anesthesia Assistants, and Surgical Administrative Assistance at the Children’s’ Hospital of Eastern Ontario, in Ottawa. Jane is currently a member of ORNAO Executive as Secretary and in the past an active member of the Ottawa Region Operating Room Nurses’ Association holding many executive positions. In 2013 she was involved with the International/National Conference held in Ottawa when she looked after the Volunteers then as well. I look forward to participating with this team.

I have been an OR nurse since 1992.  I spent many years as a staff nurse, Team Leader and now a Unit Manager.  I was active in my local NCORNA for 10 years serving as secretary, Treasurer, President Elect, President and past president.  I served on 4 Provincial conference committees (1998,2002,2007,2012) and received my CPN(c ) certification in 1998.  On the fun side I have attended numerous National Conferences and AORN Congress.  I am looking forward to being a part of the team.

Lisa Mackie is a proud Perioperative Nurse. She started her career at Sunnybrook Health Science Center and after taking the Perioperative Nursing Certification , moved to the OR in 1999. In her 17 years in clinical work she held in various roles in several services , and management. Lisa completed her education in marketing and then moved to industry with 3M Canada in 2005. She has held roles in sales, marketing management, sales management and currently leads the Infection Prevention Division for 3M Canada. She has completed her MBA , and enjoys helping Perioperative Leaders, across the country, improve surgical outcomes ,with 3M solutions.

I have extensive experience in the role as Executive Director and Conference Manager for several medical, educational and legal not-for-profit Associations nationally and internationally. I have been involved with Not-for-Profits and Charities for over 20 years with a large portion of that activity directed towards member recruitment and retention, by-laws and governance, policies and guidelines, advocacy, financial management and communication.

I am fluent in both English and French (born and raised in a French community in the Ottawa Valley and have worked in France as an interpreter) and I have functional Spanish language skills.

I am honoured and ready to serve as the next Executive Director of ORNAC and look forward to working with all of you as we take the Association to the next level. It is a privilege to be associated with an organization that, for over 30 years, has been the national voice for Perioperative Registered Nurses across Canada.

With an excellent Board of Directors that is firmly committed to ORNAC’s mission, a highly professional and dedicated staff, an array of outstanding organizations with whom we cooperate, and our affiliation with special interest groups, ORNAC is well-positioned to face the challenges that lie ahead.

Previously employed with a Fortune 500 fashion company as a Production Coordinator, Sebrina Vandor prides herself on her excellent communication skills, attention to detail and budget management. Fluent in English and French, she has also held the distinguished position of Coordinator of Official Languages in a Formation with the Department of National Defence.

Sebrina takes pleasure in overseeing multiple logistical aspects of events and meetings. Her goal is to ensure ORNAC’s vision and needs are thought through and executed to satisfaction.

Sue Burns, BSc Physical Education (Honours), is the Executive Assistant of Membership, Social Media and Communication. She is bilingual and has many years’ experience in website design and maintenance, database development, membership services, and membership development. Sue was formerly the administrative director of Paddle Canada and currently holds volunteer positions as the Treasurer for the Kingston Volleyball Club and the Kingston District Volleyball Officials Association.
