Chris Downey has been a member of ORNAC since 1990, alumnus of the University of Ottawa, (BScN- Magna Cum Laude), Queen’s University, Kingston (MSc-Nursing ) and the British Columbia Institute of Technology (RNFA). Chris has been CPN(C) credentialed since 1998. Chris has been both a member and co-chair of the ORNAC Standards Committee ,  Research Pillar Chair and Pillar Chair of Research and Professional Practice reporting to the ORNAC Board of Directors. Chris is a Past President of ORNAO, ORNAC Board member (ORNAO President Elect 2003-2005, ORNAO President 2005-2007, and Chair of the Registered Nurse First Assistant Network of Canada (RNFANC) 2009-2011). Chris was a member of the ORNAC Standards Committee during each of these periods of service. Chris has practiced as a general duty Perioperative Nurse, Clinical Educator and a Nurse Manager. Chris has implemented two computer applications within the Perioperative setting (ORSOS and PICIS) and has always had a passion for computers.
