Mercy Ships is currently looking for RNs or Operating Department Practitioners to fill leadership positions on our ship, Africa Mercy. Specifically, we need RNs or Operating Department Practitioners for:
The Operating Room Team Leader coordinates daily function, supply, patient schedule and records in the operating room.
The Anaesthetic Assistant Team Leader (for anaesthesia RN, Tech, or ODP) assists anaesthesia staff in providing anaesthetic care. Team Leader is to maintain inventory of anaesthetic related materials and maintain anaesthetic equipment in conjunction with biomedical technician.
The Operating Room Educator is responsible for orientating short term OR staff and facilitating training of local OR nurses.
For all of these positions we prefer a long-term commitment (2 years), which requires both an Introduction to Mercy Ships and entry Gateway program. In addition to these long-term positions, we have some short-term opportunities (minimum two weeks) for OR Nurses and Anaesthesia providers.
