PRESIDENT Karen Frenette RN BN MN CPN(c) Karen began working in the perioperative field in 1984. She obtained her Bachelor of Nursing degree in 1991 and her Masters of Nursing degree in 2005 from the University of New Brunswick. In 2005 she also completed the Nursing and Health Care Leadership/Management Program from McMaster University. Karen has worked as a perioperative staff nurse, perioperative educator and clinical coordinator, and is presently the nurse manager of the Surgical Suite. She is also a part time instructor with the University of New Brunswick, Faculty of Nursing (Bathurst campus). Karen is the former President of NBORN and was an ORNAC Board member for 6 years. She was the Chair of the ORNAC Research Committee during her term on the ORNAC Board. |

PAST PRESIDENT Bonnie McLeod, RN, BScN, MN, CPN(C) Bonnie is presently a Perioperative clinical nurse educator with the Fraser Health Authority, Ridge Meadows Hospital site. Bonnie has 30+ years of perioperative nursing experience, with nursing education as the primary focus for the past decade. She has recently completed a Master's of Nursing (MN) degree with the University of Victoria. Bonnie represented British Columbia on the ORNAC Board from 2002-2006, was a member of the ORNAC Standards review committee for the 5th and 6th editions, and chaired the committee for Module 2 - Infection Control and Prevention, 7th edition. As the voting delegate on behalf of ORNAC, she has attended the Canadian Patient Safety Institute - "Halifax" conferences since 2005. Bonnie also participated with the Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) Environmental Health reference group, guiding the CNA's Nursing and Environmental Health initiative. |

TREASURER Alaine Young RN BA CPN(C) Alaine has been a perioperative nurse for 38 years. Throughout her career, she has held positions as front-line staff, Charge Nurse, Nurse Manager and Educator. Alaine has filled many positions in Ontario's regional (ORNAHD) and provincial (ORNAO) associations. She is currently in her 9th year on the ORNAC board/executive. Past ORNAC commitments have been Standards chair, and a member of the CNA certification exam committee. Currently she sits as an ORNAC representative on a technical subcommittee for CSA. A past recipient of the Drake Thompson Writing Award, she has co-authored articles for the CORNJ. |

PRESIDENT ELECT Rupinder Khotar Rupinder is the OR Nursing Supervisor at St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver, BC. She has been an OR nurse since 1992 and worked as one of the educators of the Providence Health Care (PHC) Perioperative Nursing Program for 10 years before taking over her present role. |

SECRETARY Sue Styles RN BN MSN CPN(C) Sue presently works as one of the instructors of the ORNAC approved Grande Prairie Regional College Perioperative Nursing Certificate Program. The perioperative environment has been home for much of her 30 year nursing career. Sue greatly values and has deep respect for the collective spirit and passion of nurses in the perioperative environment and as a result she dedicated time to establishing the Alberta North District Operating Room Nurses Association with the primary aim of providing education access and connecting northern nurses with perioperative nurses across Alberta and Canada. As an Alberta executive board member, Sue raised the profile of perioperative nursing research and while an ORNAC board member, she chaired the ORNAC/CORNJ Editorial Advisory Committee. |

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Catherine (Cathy) Harley Catherine Harley joined ORNAC as the first the Executive Director in August 2010. She works with the ORNAC Executive Board and a volunteer Board of Directors on strategic planning, Board Governance and operational management supporting their efforts in achieving the highest standards of operating room nursing practice. Catherine has also served as the part-time Executive Director for the Canadian Association for Enterostomal Therapy (CAET) where she worked on association transformation with the CAET National Board of Directors and was a volunteer Board Advisor for the start up of the Canadian Association of Wound Care. Past experience includes serving as the Global Business Manager, Wound Care for 3M Healthcare based out of St Paul Minnesota and as the Director of Global Strategic Marketing, Core Business for ConvaTec division of Bristol-Myers Squibb in Skillman, New Jersey In Canada, she was previously the Business Unit Manager for the Wound Care division of ConvaTec based in Montreal, Quebec. As an International Healthcare Business Consultant, she facilitated strategic business planning for the Board of Directors of the World Council of Enterostomal Therapy in Hong Kong and participated in the inaugural meeting of the Wound Healing Coalition in Washington, D.C.. A Registered Nurse, she also studied post graduate business and completed studies in International Interdisciplinary Wound Management at the University of Toronto. |
