ORNAC is pleased to present information on awards sponsored by our Health Care Industry Partners. These awards, each with a specific focus, are presented for contributions as outlined below. We invite you to review the Awards information and, where appropriate, publish an article in the ORNAC Journal / Revue de L’AIISOC or nominate a colleague. We thank our Industry Partners for their continued support of ORNAC and these Awards.
J & J -DRAKE THOMPSON WRITING AWARD (from articles submitted to the ORNAC Journal)
ORNAC’s first Award, the Drake Thompson Writing Award was initiated in 1983 and is sponsored by Johnson & Johnson Medical Products. This annual monetary Award is presented to the author(s) of the best original article published in the ORNAC Journal / Revue de L’AIISOC. The Award recognizes Canadian perioperative nurse authors who are Members or Associate Members of ORNAC who contribute to the education and knowledge of their colleagues through the publication of informative and relevant articles.

RMAC PATIENT SAFETY AWARD
The RMAC Patient Safety Award was established on the initiative of Ron MacLeod, RN, President & CEO of RMAC Surgical Inc. to recognize perioperative nursing leaders who are innovators in patient safety. This monetary Award is presented at each ORNAC National Conference when there is an appropriate recipient to the perioperative registered nurse who has developed and/or described relevant, practical patient safety strategies. The Award recipient can either be nominated, be a published author in the ORNAC Journal / Revue de L’AIISOC or a presenter at the ORNAC National Conference.
Completed nomination forms must be received at awards@ornac.ca by February 15th EXTENDED to March 1st, 2023 , of each National Conference year. Published authors and presenters do not require nominations.
